i love our earth- i do! and i’m grateful for all it gives.and i feel a responsibility to care for it. but to me, most importantly, is the responsibility to care for the people on our earth. earth day can remind us that across the globe, we all share a number of important characteristics. just take a look at the universal declaration of human rights: “All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood.”recently, as i have been studying the current state of slavery today, my heart cries out for the millions living without the same freedom i have. i am called.I AM CALLED to act on behalf of our brothers and sisters across our earthto love them to fight for them. this is earth day. what is earth day to you?

About:

I long for beauty, love, joy, peace, justice. Sometimes I fill my life so full that I cannot finish everything I start. My passion for life and yearning for more, more, more, can be summed up in this quote by *C.S.Lewis: “You have never had it. All the things that have ever deeply possessed your soul have been hints of it-tantalizing glimpses, promises never quite fulfilled, echoes that died away just as they caught your ear. But if it should really become manifest-if there ever came an echo that did not die away but swelled into the sound itself-you would know it. Beyond all possibility of doubt you would say, ‘here at last is the thing i was made for’. We cannot tell each other about it. It is the secret signature of each soul, the incommunicable and unappeasable want…”

I experience these tantalizing glimpses throughout my days and I believe they point to the true longing of my heart and the hearts of many. Here, I intend to share these glimpses, these shimmers of beauty, hope and love. I also hope to move those who read this to seek justice in our world. I have been given so much…I want to use it for the good of others.

Many of the photos I post will be mine unless otherwise noted. I will always reference if they're not mine.
